Brabant
The community where biomaterials companies scale
From research to production, Brabant brings together talent, labs, funding and partners to accelerate biomaterials innovation.
The region has a strong foundation in biomedical engineering, regenerative medicine and advanced materials research. Building on these strengths, Brabant is accelerating the translation of scientific breakthroughs into successful companies, production facilities and medical innovations that improve lives around the world.
That is why the Biomaterials Community Brabant brings together everything biomaterials companies need to grow. From specialised research facilities and cleanrooms to talent, investment, venture-building support and international business networks. The result is a connected ecosystem that helps companies move faster from idea to market, from startup to scale-up, and from innovation to impact.
Whether you are developing smart implants, regenerative medicine solutions, drug delivery technologies or advanced biomaterials, Brabant offers a unique environment to build, validate and scale your business.
Proof of impact
The value of a community becomes clear when companies choose to build their future there.
From Norway to Eindhoven: BoneFabrix
In Bergen, Norway, ScaffBon developed a new approach to bone regeneration. In 2025, the company joined the Biomaterials Community Brabant Hackathon. During the programme, the team tested its proposition and connected with experts and partners from across the ecosystem.
ScaffBon then joined the Venture Building Programme. The team refined its business model, explored market opportunities and expanded its network within the Brabant biomaterials community.
That journey led to the launch of BoneFabrix in Eindhoven. The company chose Brabant for more than its research strengths. It chose Brabant for the combination of facilities, talent, expertise and business support available within one region.
BoneFabrix shows what Biomaterials Community Brabant aims to achieve: attract promising companies, help them grow and create long-term value in the region.
From development to manufacturing readiness: STENTiT
STENTiT is developing regenerative vascular implants designed to help the body repair damaged blood vessels. As the company progressed towards clinical translation and commercialisation, access to specialised development and production infrastructure became increasingly important.
Through the Brabant ecosystem and collaboration with the Smart BioMaterials Consortium (SBMC), STENTiT gained access to advanced cleanroom facilities and expertise that support the development and manufacturing of regenerative medical products.
Rather than building expensive infrastructure independently, the company could leverage existing facilities while focusing on technology development and clinical advancement.
STENTiT illustrates how Brabant supports ambitious biomaterials companies beyond research by providing practical infrastructure, expertise and collaboration opportunities that help accelerate the journey towards market readiness.
Bringing breakthrough concepts towards market adoption: Revividal
Revividal is developing a natural, swallowable gastric medical device as an alternative approach for weight management.
The company benefits from Brabant’s combination of biomaterials expertise, business support and innovation infrastructure. Through connections across the ecosystem, Revividal has been able to engage with experts, explore commercialisation pathways and strengthen its position within the European biomaterials landscape.
Its progress demonstrates how Brabant supports pioneering health innovations by connecting entrepreneurs with the knowledge, facilities and networks needed to transform promising concepts into scalable healthcare solutions.
Revividal represents the kind of impact the community seeks to create: translating innovative biomaterials research into solutions with meaningful societal and commercial value.
