Trade mission Baden-Württemberg | Medical Technology
The Brabant Development Agency (BOM) is organizing a trade mission to Baden-Württemberg Germany in close collaboration with Innovation Quarter, ROM Utrecht region and NBSO Stuttgart, combined with a visit to MedtecLIVE in Stuttgart, provides an opportunity to gain insight into the regional Medtech ecosystem and to learn more about potential partnerships, market dynamics, and technological developments.
Baden-Württemberg is one of Europe’s most prominent regions for medical technology, with around 840 companies active in R&D and production. The region combines high‑tech engineering with medical expertise and is known for innovative solutions in areas such as surgical systems, robotics, diagnostics, and digital healthcare. Strategic clusters, universities, and research institutes create a dynamic ecosystem where collaboration and market introduction are central.
The region has a strong focus on several core areas within Medtech:
- High-tech surgical systems and precision instrumentation:
A strong tradition in endoscopy, instrumentation, and orthopedic technology. Startups working in miniaturization, precision engineering, robotic assistance, or advanced surgical tools will find high-end manufacturing expertise and opportunities for validation. - Medical robotics and automation:
The region is among Europe’s leaders in healthcare robotics and (semi-)automated surgical systems. Dutch companies can find partners here for testing, integration, and joint product development. - Imaging and diagnostic systems:
A solid foundation created through collaborations with academic hospitals. Companies in imaging, sensor technology, or AI‑based image analysis will find concrete opportunities with clinical partners and major OEMs.
The region offers an ecosystem where technical and medical expertise come together, enabling Dutch startups and scale-ups to deepen their technology, collaborate with clinical and high-tech validation partners, and gain access to the German and European markets through local OEMs, supply chains, and co‑development partners.
This business mission therefore provides a strategic entry point into one of Europe’s most advanced Medtech ecosystems, full of opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and market introduction.
