Why Advanced Manufacturing to Malaysia?

The highly competitive Advanced Manufacturing industry is constantly evolving, driven by innovation in advanced production systems and integrated solutions featuring the latest technologies and automation. Malaysia aims to strengthen its capabilities in manufacturing high-value, high-tech machinery and equipment. The country’s industries are increasingly moving towards a focus on modular manufacturing, research and development (R&D), and design and development (D&D) for low-volume, high-complexity, and highly customized products. As machines and equipment are becoming more complex, Malaysia also sees an increasing demand for systems integrators. The Netherlands is uniquely positioned to collaborate with Malaysia as its industry is home to a long-standing base of systems integrators.

The country has a strong foundation of expertise in designing and integrating automation and control systems, sensors, actuators and connecting networks and software for industrial machinery, manufacturers or facilities. This puts Dutch companies among the top in system integration. In addition, suppliers in the ecosystem are used to adapting their technologies to integrate seamlessly with other manufacturers. This push for lateral integration ensures that the same value chains can also produce for other industries such as Medtech or Analytical.

What to expect?

This mission offers Dutch companies visits to key players in the local supply chains of Penang and Kuala Lumpur, providing an in-depth understanding of the requirements for establishing facilities or expanding a supply chain in Malaysia. Throughout the week tailored matchmaking will be organized based on companies’ individual needs.

For Whom?

This mission is intended for companies that have already begun exploring the Malaysian market and now seek a deep dive into the local advanced manufacturing ecosystem to build concrete business relationships and consider setting up facilities.
